BEST PRACTICES FOR GLOBAL COORDINATION, STRATEGY AND INNOVATION MANAGEMENT

Opportunity

Assess and identify, as a global business leader, the strengths and areas for improvement of global innovation to ensure best practices for how to launch and manage global initiatives.

How we did it

The Valen Group’s task was to improve speed-to-market in global innovation across markets and geographies and provide guidance on their global innovation model. We conducted a benchmarking study of other global leaders based upon The Valen Group’s best practice models for global coordination and decision-making. The study allowed to determine the Company’s issues and opportunities for improvement in organizational structure, decision-making and process improvement.

Results

The strategy developed by the Valen Group, through what became the Company’s Accelerator Team, helped their strategic global launch leaders get innovation to market smarter and faster. Understanding the limitations of the current organizational structure allowed top strategic business unit leaders to improve decision-making and coordination. These improvements to their global business have been recognized by the leaders as key to accelerate speed to market generating better competitive results.
